Superhero shows are all over the place these days. well, we're about to get one more ... Kinda. Netflix has ordered a 10-episode season of the one-hour sci-fi, family drama, Raising Dion. The series is based on the short film and comic book by Dennis Liu. Check out the film below.
The series will be about an African American woman, Nicole Reese, who is doing her best to raise her 7-year-old son Dion after the death of her husband, Mark. If it wasn't enough that she just lost her husband and has to now raise her son alone, Dion begins to manifest an array of superpowers. She enlists the help of her late husband's friend, Pat, to help her watch over Dion as she tries to learn the source of his powers and keep his abilities hidden from those that take her son from her and treat him like a lab experiment.

Netflix has ordered the Raising Dion TV show to series. The superhero saga focuses on a single mother and who is raising her young son, who happens to be a superhero with ever-changing powers. Like parenthood isn't tough enough.... The series is based on Dennis Liu's comic book and a short film of the same name. Watch it, below. A sci-fi drama, the first season of Raising Dion will consist of 10 one-hour episodes. Showrunner Carol Barbee wrote the first episode and is executive producing with Liu, who will direct the series premiere. Michael B. Jordan will appear in the series and is executive producing under his Outlier Society Productions banner. Also executive producing the Netflix production are MacRo’s Charles D. The short was created by music video director Dennis Liu and Creed star Michael B. Jordan is set to co-star in the series. The normal dramas of raising a son as a single mom are amplified when Dion starts to manifest several magical, superhero-like abilities.
