King Shark was FREAKING AWESOME!!!!EVEN IN DAYLIGHT!!!!!!! It was a little slow-going exploring the aftermath of last ep, but everything about him and Flash made this ep worth slogging through the angst. Love all the Jaws reference, and if they blew the budget for that 30-second shot of King Shark before, then they must have mortgaged CW for the next 5 years + a loaner from CBS in exchange for lending them Flash for this ep's fight scene. I don't expect any CGI until the finale and then only the last 5 minutes. But King Shark is worth it!!!!!!
Wally said no lies about Barry. Except his shot about Barry's pictures all over the house. Poor Joe, he never thought he would need Sharknado insurance. But then, who does?! Barry's anguished/guilt-ridden "confession" was the perfect counter-balance to his distracted-condescending attitude.
Jesse wasn't as bad as I feared. She didn't disappear in the background nor was she overtly in the foreground. The little give-and-take between her and Harry was a relief, that they're not going to be the put-upon father and emo-daughter.
This was Caitlin's best arc. Maybe that's why the writers keep putting the screws to her: she has the strength to rise above each hardship. We start off with icy Caitlin a la the pilot, then sensible Caitlin as she quite rightly explains why she's "cold" now, and finally sweet Caitlin as she gently pulls Cisco's leg (which he deserved). As much as I enjoyed her icy attitude (that scene with the shark specialist!), I'm glad for the return of nice Caitlin who doesn't deserve to be condemned to be KF.
It was great to see Cisco be the one to take care of Caitlin, hearkening back to their long-friendship. But then he starts going at her with "you're going to turn into a murderous metahuman" over and over. Was he trying to push her into it so he'll know if he can become Reverb or something?!
A little more Flash/Diggle/Lyla interactions would have been nice.
Did I mention King Shark is FREAKING AWESOME? In EVERY SCENE! EVEN IN DAYLIGHT!!! And the only thing more awesome than him was his fight with Flash!!!
Score: 9.2 because King Shark/Flash fight
