Walter shows Buckley his newest sketches with Carol and Buckley is impressed. Buckley feeling guilty about the Ann situation suggests that a social outing is in need. Buckley suggests that Carol, the Reynolds and the Stevens all come over to his home for a dinner party. Walter is apprehensive, but figures it is worth a shot. At the studio, Walter asks Carol what she thinks about Buckley's plans for an outing. Carol says she is fine at whatever Ann agrees to. Jill stops by Walter's studio to introduce him to her new friend, Jimmy Dahl (Ken Metcalfe). Jimmy at one time had aspirations to be an artist. Walter is surprised that Jimmy is much older than Jill. While Jimmy and Jill are at the studio, Jill hides out behind her dressing screen. It turns out that Carol and Jimmy share an unpleasant past. That evening at home Walter decides to give Jill some advice and to watch out for Jimmy because of Carol's warning. (Apparently, since Jill was introduced she has aged from 16 to 18.)
