The film was shot entirely over the course of only 5 days. Most films aim to cover 3 pages of script a day, low budget films typically aim for 6-7 pages a day. Crone Wood shot on average 21 pages on each day.
Crone Wood was shot on location at the Hellfire Club, an infamous ruined building that watches over Dublin City that was supposedly home to a satanic group. The chair at the head of the table always reportedly left free should the devil ever choose to show up. Some stories maintain that he did one night, in the form of a black cat that came in and took its seat at the table.
When small re-shoots were required 4 months after initial photography, the crew were shocked to discover the large tree featured in the climax had been removed from the woods, as a result creative angles and a pile of branches were utilized as a work around.
