A nice insight of a mostly forgotten part - the fight to build a Free France outside its territory
A good documentary that shows how much De Gaulle had to fight to impose himself as the representative of Free France during WWII, but also to give France in an independant position after the war - the plan was to keep France occupied the way Germany has been!
Strangely enough, even if he was based in London, it is the support of French resistance in France that allowed him to triumph of the puppets put in front by Roosevelt and Churchill.
This struggle against Churchill and Roosevelt will durably mark De Gaulle external politics and explain (at least partly) his position with an independant France, outside NATO or other organizations under the US authority.
It began almost alone, with only a few French answering to his appeal of 18 June and concluded with his return in France, never loosing its track and showing a personality worthy of a real leader.
