An edgy deep dive (thanks in part to remarkable access) into the lives of first generation American-born Korean youth struggling to navigate the underbelly of the American dream (or is it a nightmare?) and make something of themselves. Great footage, taut editing, intense, personal, and very real. Nice work on a relatively little-known, relatively invisible slice of immigrant life and feral gang culture in America that deserves far more attention and understanding. Another good work from filmmaker Eunice Lau whose earlier work includes the outstanding 'Accept the Call' which I would also highly recommend. Relatively few film makers seem to be tackling these challenging and sensitive subjects.
