Immersive Gaming Review: Realistic Strategy and Faction Variety
BrunoEsparza1 November 2023
I thoroughly enjoyed the intelligence and operations officer aspects in this experience. The level of realism, planning, and adaptability brought to the table was impressive. However, I did find that at times, the science team was placed ahead without a suitable escort, which detracted from the overall experience. On the positive side, the differentiation between factions in the lore was well-founded and added depth to the narrative.

The design of the units and upgrades in this experience is commendable. The strategic balance between different types of units, such as light, medium, and heavy vehicles, along with artillery, gunships, bombers, and interceptors in the air, and the constant logistics challenge, adds a layer of complexity to the battles. This requires careful planning and consideration of counters for all units and terrains, adhering to METT-TC principles (Mission, Enemy, Terrain and Weather, Troops and Support Available, Time, and Civil Considerations), which enhances the tactical depth of the game.

It's interesting to note that infantry is conspicuously absent due to the unforgiving desert environments on the planets. This absence not only makes the gameplay more immersive but also introduces a new level of challenge, as players must adapt to these harsh conditions in their strategic decisions.
