Dialog driven brilliance

Warning: Spoilers
Louis CK did it again, this episode is a peace of perfect television. 40 something minutes long and just two people talking about their lives and it never gets boring not for a second. Laurie Metcalf in this episode is fantastic even Oscar worthy and Loie did a great job too. She is not just great at delivering lines hers body language especially eyes are so expressive. Loui's writing is perfect it has that Tarantino-esc fell to it (only more heartfelt) that keeps yours eyes glued to the screen. He is great at justifying human actions no mater how horrible they might be. This is a study of human nature. Olso remained me of Charlie Kaufman's writing in a way. I Can't wait to watch next episode. Shame there only few more left.

A Masterpiece of in our time

This episode hit home so hard that it left me in tears by the end. Having lived through a marriage with a cheating spouse for years. Having made excuses for their actions by blaming myself, for just one example. Trying to justify what she was doing and how that eventually effected me, and still effects me and the way my brain is now, possibly, permanently wired. Watching this incredibly well written, well acted episode of Horace & Pete made a difference in the way I think about all that time spent, and the gut wrenching pain I went through - I never thought about what she went through. Don't get me wrong, there isn't an excuse for her or for any cheater, but she still went through something. And as traumatic as it was for me, it was for her too. Not like that mattered in the end, divorce was eventual and inevitable. Once my kids were a little older I could leave her and now my relationship with my children is better than ever. But in my minds eye, for her.... After watching this episode I just feel sorry for her, but I don't hate her. I can put it aside, but never be able to forget. Regardless, this episode brought all this up and it was an amazing experience on a personal level and a must see for anyone in that kind of situation, on both sides. This episode can also be a good episode for anyone that doesn't like Louis CK. Their misunderstanding of the man can be seen and explained within the subject matter of this episode seeing as how it was written and directed by the man. The lesson is people can do bad things and still not be bad people.

Astonishing performance

Louie is one of my all time favorite series because it had unique moments I had never seen before in any show or movie.

This episode really touched me. The performance was so honest, so genuine that I just wanted it to be longer and longer. And, in the end, I cried along with Louis C.K. That's the most emotive moment I've seen him through.

I love everything this comedian does. I do.

One of the best talks on screen you'll ever see

I don't often review shows or movies, let alone episodes, but this one was one of the best 40 minutes I've watched. I know I know, 2 years later, but just now I'm watching H&P, and I think this is the best episode this show will have. We know Louis isn't a good actor, but somehow he achieved here his best performance ever. But truly the very best of this ep was Laurie Metcalf, with what is probably the best female perfomance I've seen on TV. To be hoest I wasn't happy about her winning the Oscar for Lady Bird, but after this, I think she deserves 5 more!!! A shame what Louis did, because that killed his career, and he was a genious...

Life is dirty

Warning: Spoilers
This intimate episode entails so many excellent themes through a heartfelt conversation. Horace's ex-wife has a conundrum of a situation. She has fallen for her husbands father. Gaps between generations are highlighted here as she feels conflicted over her feelings. The story is told in such heartfelt, tasteful way yet still retains Louis CK's patented sexual humour. The pace slows considerably in this episode with a compelling opening monologue.

What really got me is how this episode tells in excellent detail about how dirty life is. We often see shows that highlight the glamour of an affair or family relationships without the heartache or anxiety that is attached.

forget about inglorious bastards'milk scene this is better

Once you get inside of the hole of darkness and crap that is Louis C.K. legacy you will released that this is not that surprising ,además it is quiet predictable, if you bought this episode thinking the you will sit down in your dirty sofa and have some laughs with the great sense of humor of this guy ,man you made a bad decision , instead of that this is part of the complete piece that is "Horace and Pete" with in general is basically a yell of narcissism from a dude that believe , deep in his himself that he is much more than just a comedian , that's the reason why there are not canned laughs and breaks , because Louis don't want the comedy to be the center of the show , the real reason because of what he has made this beautiful piece of darkness is because he want us to released than he can make the crowd fell thing much deeper than just laughs and happiness. So in conclusion at the end this is just a wonderful try from a egocentric man to prove that he is better than what most people believe he is. And this episode is the perfect example of that.

Where's the show?
hkytoire14 April 2016
This series has great actors and writing, enough to put up with for just being shot in a bar. This episode, as good as Laurie Metcalf's performance is, is a bore fest. To hear someone drone on about pretty much nothing - for the whole show - while an excellent cast isn't even involved is awful. I paid to see the comedy Horace and Pete with Alan Alda, Steve B., etc., not a one or two man dialog that isn't fun or funny. I turned it off halfway through but will purchase one more episode to see where this is going. Any more of this crap and I'll move on. I don't understand the prior excellent write-ups unless some viewers don't expect what a comedian, who wrote and directed this, should be putting out on a consistent basis - comedy. If you think about the worst episodes in sitcom history they were always the serious ones - but after it has been on for years. This show is only three in and already going to that.
