What a nice hidden treat in a a sea of indie films! A terrific story! Theses fine storytellers did a wonderful job depicting what it is like to be homeless in LA while maintaining one's dignity. I thought the acting was spot on! Bravo the casting department! Rasheed Stephens' acting really stood out! But don't get me wrong, I thought the other actors were good too. I enjoyed the story. I found the movie moved along at a very comfortable pace. A thumbs up from me.

Emotional and real

Usually, a film tends to lean more one way or another. It's mainstream and phony (but maybe cute and sweet) or it's indie and real, but sometimes so dark you want to cry the whole way. This movie creates a more interesting balance. It is raw, emotional and affecting. But it also has real heart and touches of humor. The best of both worlds! I cared about the characters and was involved throughout. I love when that happens. :)
Brilliant balancing act of realism and entertainment

A brilliant balancing act of realism and entertainment. Performances here are really something, especially by the lead. We'll be seeing him very soon in bigger productions I have no doubt. Subtlety and emotion is the key here and a very tricky thing to get right.
Strong story of functioning homeless

An offbeat tale of a man living in his car in los angeles and trying to juggle two girlfriends. It's an interesting premise. Because epsecially in LA there's a huge population of 'functioning' homeless. People that have jobs, live semi-ordinary lives but have no place of residence. The movie was both charming and sad.

Coffee & Cabbage was a nice indie gem. The storyline of a man who's homeless living out of his car while searching for a job and dealing with two girlfriends certainly made for a unique film. Director Josh Mitchell did a great job pulling the best performances out of his actors. Lead actor Rasheed Stephens held his own and the actors who played the homeless men were really funny. The music, editing, and camera work were on point.
Unique Indie Film with Strong Performances

Coffee & Cabbage is a very interesting and unique indie film about the lives of some homeless individuals in Los Angeles. I think this may be the first movie I've seen from the perspective of modern day homeless people, and I applaud the filmmakers for telling a story about people who are increasingly brushed aside by society today. Even just seeing a film about two homeless people dating is more humanizing that I'm used to seeing in most tv/film. Rasheed Stephens gives a high quality performance in this film and is able to elevate the film with his acting. Coffee & Cabbage is different from many films I've seen, which I appreciated, and at a brisk running time of an hour and 18 minutes, it's definitely worth your time to check out.
