SunMine is a large sun-tracking solar project built in Kimberley B.C. on a mining brownfield. It's all part of the reinvention of the beautiful mountain city in southeastern British Columbia as a modern, solar powered tourism town. The mining town was founded in 1917 and was once home to the largest lead-zinc mine in the world. Since the shut down in 2001 Kimberley has focused on building a mountain tourism economy with more golf courses than traffic lights.
