Warning: Spoilers
"Mr. Burberry" is a 3-minute live action short film and the title (pretty uncreative to be honest) gives away already that here we got a long commercial for perfume manufacturer Mr. Burberry. The two actors aren't that well-known really, but the director is Oscar-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen from England. The plot is about a couple at a hotel watching the streets from their balcony, going out and having sex of course while still being separated at the very end. Or are they? Anyway, this one here did not offer too much for me and certainly does not make me want to buy the product depicted in here. I wonder how much money they threw McQueen's way to direct here. Anyway, it is a bit stylish and atmospheric, but that's really the only positive thing I can say. The actors aren't too bad either, even if this film lives more through desire and sensual moments than through range really. But the worst thing is that the song did not fit the film at all in my opinion, on a level that it almost destroys it. No idea what they were thinking but it had nothing in common with the movie's tone and atmospheric take. All in all, this one here gets a thumbs-down from me. Not recommended.
