In 1972, Yvonne Huriez made the headlines. For an unpaid bill, she was sentenced to four months in prison. The eldest of her nine children, Thierry, could not stand his mother's incarceration. He committed suicide. Six years later, Yvonne Huriez tries to start living again. She lives in a transit housing estate in Saint-Denis and has opened a bookshop under the name of "Dégling's". A meeting point for the excluded, the pariahs, the inhabitants of the zone or of the transit cities, the "dégling's" (the misfits), as she calls them with humor and tenderness.
