Christie is a key prosecution witness at Evans' trial and, despite sharp cross examination by Evans' barrister Malcolm Norris, the hapless youngster is found guilty and executed. For all the promise of a new house Christie returns to Rillington Place with Ethel, taking a new tenant in Beresford Brown. More murders follow before a suspicious Beresford makes a disturbing discovery, leading to police intervention and, despite his pleas of insanity, the justice which Christie had escaped for almost two decades.
