When a locomotive is first coupled to a train, it takes several minutes for the train crew to connect all of the air brake hoses, verify that the brakes are working along the entire train, and allow time for the locomotive's air pump to pressurize the system. However, in the show, the train immediately pulls away.
CPR did not exist in 1929. It would be over 30 years later when the technique shown here would be established.
