Very interesting and entertaining documentation about the favelas in Rio
ozancoeruet14 June 2017
The documentation is about some British guys who randomly settled in Rio de Janeiro, living in some of the so called favelas (slums). It gives you a nice overview about the different perspectives about the life in these areas. The documentation gets right to the point without building up too much tension. They interviewed people who said the right things and kept it simple. Also they interviewed people with contrary perspective without commenting it.

One big plus is that the documentary is funny because the leading characters aren't boring and talk as they want to :-). I personally visited the favela tour of Jody in May 2015 and can tell that he is as authentic as he is in the documentary. The projects do really exist and aren't made up or something!

Brilliantly directed. Amazing soundtrack and the visuals are breathtaking. The manage to do exactly what they set out to do which was to show the beauty and the soul of the favelas. 10/10 well done.

Excellent

I thought this documentary was fantastic. It gives an insight into the Brazilian spirit and also some of the problems the country faced in the buildup to it taking centre stage for the World Cup and the Olympics.

The characters interviewed were interesting and offered a unique perspective.

Thoroughly recommend.
