During the first day of shooting the director Michael Allmon was driving the stunt car. During the very last stunt the car flipped and broke the windshield, back window, rear wheel, and front fenders. Michael and Second Unit Director Philip Ethridge stayed out in the swamps till midnight fixing the car with a flashlight so they could drive it out. Michael Also had to direct and DP the next 2 days with injuries from the accident because they were unable to reschedule.
Many shots in the film are homage to movies. Arial shots similar to those in the shining, Michael Bay spinning dolly shots, and the opening shot is the same as the first shot that introduces Rey in Star Wars The Force Awakens.
