Pequod

Warning: Spoilers
The show has always been trying to emulate The Walking Dead, that's been obvious since the get-go, but the new character introduced was about as clear a rip-off of Morgan from that show as you could hope for.

I am glad we actually got to see The Mist Monster in this episode, but her not attacking Alex is typical horror movie ridiculousness. Is it because she's pregnant? I guess we'll see soon, but it was another lame "twist" you could see coming from a mile away.

Flabby and turgid
neilpaxman28 August 2017
This series promised so much, but has delivered little. The novella and original TV adaptation had pace and shocks aplenty. This extended adaptation is as flabby as Mrs Doubtfire and the shocks such as they are, are signposted crudely. Overlong build ups, unlikely reactions to life threatening events and wooden acting all contribute to a turgid talk fest with tortoise like plot development.

If the makers were looking to ape Walking Dead, it's a big fat fail.

I found myself fast forwarding to see if there was actually going to be any drama.

There wasn't.

Do yourself a favour and watch the original with Thomas Jane and co. There's a reason Frank Darabond is revered in this genre.

It gets worse as it goes on

I've got this far with this series but I can't take it any more. It's badly written with responses being really predictable as well as the storylines. It just doesn't feel realistic at all. It also annoys me how the extras, who can't say anything are standing there looking awkward, probably thinking "It would be good if we interjected here, but we can't." You just know that something is going to happen with the way the direction sets it up. I suppose it's okay for people who don't think deeply and want cheap entertainment, but that's all you're going to get.
