Belle and Sebastian and Suki Waterhouse have teamed up on the new single “Every Day’s a Lesson in Humility,” as part of Vol. 8 of the Sub Pop Singles Club.
The laid-back, breezy track is the B-side to Waterhouse’s recent “To Love” 7-inch, and was written by both acts and produced by Belle and Sebastian. It combines the best qualities of each artist by melding their effervescent instrumentation and airy vocals.

His controversial film ’Sparta’ will still screen as part of the programme.
Austrian director Ulrich Seidl will no longer be the recipient of the prestigious Douglas Sirk award at the 30th anniversary edition of the upcoming Filmfest Hamburg, although his film Sparta, which is drawing controversy following allegations about working conditions for its child actors during its shoot, will still be shown during the festival.
It will screen as part of the Kaleidoskop section, as a diptych with Rimini, Seidl’s first film of 2022, that debuted at the Berlinale in February.
The move comes following a report in German news...

A Manual For Cleaning Women will no longer be Pedro Almodóvar’s English-language feature directorial debut after the Spanish directorr withdrew, citing “a very painful decision”.
Cate Blanchett will star and produce through Dirty Films, however Almodóvar said he was not ready to tackle a project of such magnitude. No replacement director has been announced yet.

The film will debut on September 24 at the Kursaal Auditorium with the film’s stars Liam Neeson and Diane Kruger in attendance. Based on the novel The Black Eyed Blonde by John Banville, the film is set in 1930s Los Angeles and follows private eye Philip Marlowe (Neeson) as he receives a commission to find the missing lover of a beautiful heiress. The film is produced by Alan Moloney, Gary Levinsohn, Mark Fasano, Billy Hines, Philip Kim, and Patrick Hibler. Shot in Barcelona and Dublin, the film is a co-production between Parallel Films, Hills Productions, and Davis Films, with support from Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland.
