I'm sure that Sensual Jane is a good luck charm for Marc Dorcel, because after the smashing success of her starring for the label in "My Mother Prefers Young Men" she returns as a decidedly different mama in the equally entertaining "Revenge of a Daughter". It's not merely the familial titles that matter here, but the style and creativity delivered.
This time around Pascal Lucas re-teams with house director Herve Bodilis to pilot an involving story featuring a lengthy cast list, with performers doing a great job both in terms of characterization and hot sex. That combo is what I look for in a worthwhile Adult Film, whether it was shot in the '70s or is of 21st Century vintage, and they have become few and far between lately.
Jane is the step-mother of our lead character Cara Saint Germain, one of the loveliest actresses in Dorcel's current talent stable. Cara's father (Pascal White) is found dead after a heady S&M liaison with a dominatrix. The dom is blamed for his death, considered collateral damage after a night of rough sex and is locked up.
Cara teams up with the uber-sexy Nikita Bellucci to track down the facts of her father's demise, and achieve revenge. Use of helicopter shooting and traveling, plus a beautiful ski chalet setting gives the feature tremendous production values, not the distracting padding and showing off of a James Bond film, but similarly delivering the scope that takes us out of the cornball bedrooms/mansions of typical porn.
It's no surprise that Jane is the bad guy of the piece, but after many evocative sex scenes, spotlighting a varied cast of femmes including top stars Anissa Kate and Ines Lenvin (plus scene stealing beauties Lucy Heart and particularly Mina Sauvage), Jane gets the final show-stopping sex scene, a threesome that is fully satisfying in its own right. And that is important in this era when porn is thought of as "scenes" (not complete features) and marketed for streaming or downloading one scene at a time.
With such a huge cast, it is noteworthy that even though the DVD trumpets that it contains the "Long Version", Dorcel manages to deliver the entire package in a concise 2-hour format, avoiding the now de rigeur 4-hour exercises that so many porn features or series adhere to. Highly recommended.
