Well, I was drawn to the 2019 movie "Agramon's Gate" because it was a horror movie that I hadn't already seen. And I must say that the movie's cover, the one with the Asian demonic woman on it, definitely looked interesting.
Sure, as I sat down to watch this movie from writer and director Harley Wallen I didn't really know what I was in for, much less did I have any idea of what to expect from the movie. So writer and director Harley Wallen definitely had every chance to impress me and win me over.
Needless to say that neither of those two things happened.
While "Agramon's Gate" was initially off to a fairly adequate start, the movie quickly buckled under itself and fell into a slump, where it just trotted on at a rather monotonous pace. The storyline told in "Agramon's Gate" just didn't really have much of any appeal really, as most things seemed random or pointless even. And it wasn't much of a win-over that the characters were bland and were as memorable as wet cardboard.
For a horror movie then the 2019 movie from writer and director Harley Wallen just didn't manage to set itself aside from many other movies in the genre, most of which that has fared a lot better than this one did.
Sure, "Agramon's Gate" wasn't among the top ten of worst horror movies that I have stumbled upon, but this was by no account a great or outstanding horror movie in any way. Yeah, the movie was watchable, I will give it that much. But when I say watchable, I don't mean enjoyable.
Visually then "Agramon's Gate" was adequate. But truth be told, then the movie felt like it was coming short on special effects, because had they invested more money into special effects, the movie might have fared somewhat better.
All in all, "Agramon's Gate" is not a movie that I would recommend you rush out to get your hands on, much less actually spend your time, money or effort on if you can avoid it. My rating of "Agramon's Gate" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
