• Dr. Gray : Now... what's the last thing you remember?

  David Thompson : The last thing I remember was waking up from this horrible nightmare. It was unlike anything I dreamed about before. There was this woman chasing me down a long underground tunnel. At the end of the tunnel was a fire. I can feel heat as I got closer. I turned around and I see her clear as day. Her face is burned with no eyes. As I'm running from her, I see my wife Nancy standing there covered in blood. She screams out the name Krueger. I run to her and I grab her... as I am hold her bloody body in my arms, she hands me a book. And she whispers to me, "that's the only thing that can end it."

  Dr. Gray : This is obviously coming from the stress and depression you've been dealing with after your divorce. Have you spoken to her recently?

  David Thompson : No, I haven't. Listen, this thing is trying to kill me in my dreams. I can't tell if my sleeping or awake anymore. Do you understand? It's getting worse. Do you think I'm making this shit up? I'm sorry, it's just... I'm in a lot of pain. I have no idea what's going on.

  Dr. Gray : David, we will get through this together. Why are you so convinced you will die in your dream?

  David Thompson : Because it's getting harder for me to find my way out. Every time I've waking up from the dream, I've been having another. Like someone else is in control. I know you don't believe me, but tried confronting this woman in my dreams.

  Dr. Gray : Did it work?

  David Thompson : No, it made it worse. I pissed her off.

  Dr. Gray : How was it worse?

  David Thompson : I have to show you.

  [David lifts his shirt showing his wound] 

  Dr. Gray : Are you trying to tell me that happened to you in a dream?

  David Thompson : You think I would hurt myself on purpose? Why?

  Dr. Gray : I am sorry for everything you are going through, David, but you are experiencing some serious emotional trauma and I don't think I can help you anymore! I have to call the authorities.

  David Thompson : What? The police? What are they gonna do? You think I'm making this up? Someone is trying to kill me and you think you're doing me a favor!

  Dr. Gray : I'm sorry. This is out of my control.

  David Thompson : I can show you how real this is.

  [David shows her the Book] 

• David Thompson : Dr. Gray, who are you talking to?

  Krueger : She's no longer here, David.

  David Thompson : Who are you?

  Krueger : I was forced in to the deepest and darkest place in hell by that very book you're holding. Now that I'm finally free, I've come to collect my property. You and your wife held something deep in your soul. And now me? The children of Elm Street once again served their purpose.

  David Thompson : What are you saying, demon?

  Krueger : I am everything you fear. I am... KRUEGER!

• Krueger : You allowed your wife to be tortured like this, David? Did you know Nancy was pregnant?

  [she squashes the fetus] 

  David Thompson : No!

  Krueger : Not any more.
