Neill Blomkamp confirms that he will direct The Gone World, based on an upcoming book.
Since Neill Blomkamp’s long-discussed Alien sequel project fell apart, the director is shifting his attention to another project that’s been on his wish list since late-2015 with The Gone World, a film adaption of the upcoming sci-fi-themed thriller novel of the same name by Tom Sweterlitsch.

Blomkamp confirmed his director status with 20th Centruy Fox for The Gone World by taking to Twitter, touting an advance copy of Sweterlitsch’s novel, which is currently set for release on February 6, 2018.

Producer Lynette Howell Taylor has announced the formation of a new production banner called 51 Entertainment that focuses on filmmaker driven content, and will utilise multiple platorms.
Independent producer Samantha Housman has been hired to join the company, serving alongside Taylor and creative executive Derek Iger.
Unicorn Store, directed by Brie Larson from a script by Samantha McIntyre, will be the first film produced under the new banner. Larson also stars in the film alongside Samuel L Jackson.
The story centres on a woman who moves back in with her parents and receives an invitation to a store that will test her ideas of what it really means to grow up.
