This documentary shows the life of a middle-aged man named David, better known as the rapper Niñato, who is struggling between chasing his dream of a musical career and raising his children throughout crisis in Madrid's suburbs. Living one door away from his parents in an apartment complex, Niñato relies heavily on their help to raise and provide for his three children. Throughout the documentary we get an idea of the everyday struggles the family is facing. In the centre of the conversation is Oro, the youngest of his children who is struggling to keep up in school and has problems to become more autonomous. While leaving open how Niñatos musical career will unfold, the end of the documentary indicated a positive change for the kids and their future.

The documentary presents itself in an observatory way, making the viewer feel very close to the family's issues and diving into intimate situations and character relationships. The documentary leaves a lot of room for interpretation, this however leads to a loss of focus and clear aim behind it. Throughout the entire documentary it does not become clear what the director wants to show us. There seem to be too many things going on at once, too many aspects that influence the viewer experience. Does it show the struggles of a whole generation in Spain in unemployment? Does it tell the story of a man who can't give up on his dream, risking his kids to suffer from the consequences? The movie shows the crisis of the family in an economically challenging time. It shows the love between Niñato and his girlfriend. It shows a father, trying to teach his son autonomy even though he has none himself. It shows the influence of music and the joy it brings to his kids. It shows a whole dynamic of different factors that might be one too many, to actually be grasped in its entirety. Overall an inspiring movie, the documentary missed something for me. It missed the ability to show one thing in total, but instead showed me too many things, too vaguely.
