The video was filmed at high speed and later played back in slow motion. This was a safety measure, as Thom Yorke had to submerge his head into water for real. For that, a fishbowl helmet was used. Once his head was fully submerged, he pulled a rubber part of the helmet to release the water, and the crew quickly opened the helmet to allow him to breathe. He had to do this for several takes, during which he became progressively claustrophobic.
