It's good movie to watch knowing others culture outthere.

Also so inspiring and touchable movie.

I usually don't like documentaries, but this one was very fun! I saw this in theaters when it first came out and I'd definitely recommend to watch this on Netflix or DVD when it comes out.

The visuals are stunning, and the story interweaves the life of an Indonesian composer, Wenten, who lives in Los Angeles, the history of the traditional music and the making of a music video. Definitely very fun and the little boy who dances is so cute!

Didn't know anything going into it, but I'm glad I watched it. Wenten was such a heart warming character, I felt like the film really captured his essence so well!

My favorite part was when the little boy performed for the first time. It was so cute!

Gamelan is a dying art in Indonesia.

On the other hand, in the US gamelan is being taught in Harvard, MIT, UC Berkeley and many more top universities.

Most director make film about love and shoot in Europe, or they make low budget horror film to make quick easy money.

Livi is one of the very few director that constantly promote Indonesia.

This documentary is educational and not boring. I would give it a 7 star.

But the fact that someone make this without government money, they just make it to promote Indonesia I give it 2 additional stars just for that.

I watched this film when they have private screening at my university, it was full house and the audience laughed a lot. It is very light and entertaining movie. I noticed there are a lot of 1 stars given to this movie. It doesn't deserve that. Those are just haters that did not watch the film.

I didn't know what to expect when I first started watching this film, but I immediately fell in love Wenten! He's so warm and cute, I wish I could adopt him to be my grandpa! The story revolves around Judith Hill, and Wentens journey to make a music video and along the way you learn a lot about Indonesia, Bali, and Gamelan. I'd highly recommend.

I came across this film and really liked it. The story weaves through different people and knowledge of the music and dance of Bali. We get to know an older couple who teach the music and dance in the US. I found it touching and entertaining. Makes me want to go visit Bali.

This film was very entertaining! I wasn't expecting to learn so much about gamelan and Balinese culture.

The cameraman can shoot with the good angle and the documentation is very good at all

For documentary film, it's actually good enough, sorry to say but for all the people who said it's bad, come on dude, doesn't u proud of this ?

If you like documentaries, add this to your list! It's got it all, great story, stunning visuals, and heart warming characters. Definitely watch this film when you get a chance.

Brings Bali to this movie was incredible, everyone loves the beauty of Bali. For the summer vibes, the culture was so pure and amazing.

Hi, when i scrolling i found out this movie then i watched, the cover really make me so curios, also they make the effect really great.

The gamelan so amazing, reading all reviews make me sad, how come they wrote a bad reviews just because they heard the badissue of the director?

Honestly this movie is not an amazing movie, or memorable movie for the documantaries, but for me i like this movie also worth to watch. Non of any director wanted to make the documentaries movie, but she did. This is the positive. At least if you guys don't like this movie just appriciate it, do not wrote the bad reviews just because the issue. God bless u.

All of the parts regarding Bali/Indonesian culture are interesting. Gamelan music, the form of dancing, and mythos of this region is all very beautiful, and certainly worthy of this documentary.

I give this a 7/10 for all of these aspects of the documentary.

The Judith Hill song is about as fake as I can imagine given the context, and I have no idea why she was in this movie. You can't hear any of the gamelan in the mix of the song they produced, with only barely a few seconds of flute being notable late in the song. She even complained that the notes didn't fit into Western music well. I'd lean towards saying that this is an act of exploitation more than any legitimate willingness to bring attention to the music of Bali.

The gamelan playing man himself is a very polite, passionate man. I would've much rather seen a music video of him playing than Judith Hill.

I would've given it a higher score if it weren't for the Judith Hill sections, which left me confused more than anything. Luckily they didn't completely dominate the video.

This film is not bad at all, and im proud of it. It shows the Balinese culture to the international world. I think Hollywood quality is just promotion gimmick, and there is no effect on the quality of the film. Please for the haters, judge objectively. Very sad there are still so many people who can only hate with immature mind in my country..

I'm not a fan of documentaries movie, but this one i do feel enjoyable. I think the story of Mr. Wenten is wonderful. They pick the right topic ( Gamelan and Bali ) Bali never failed me. After i saw this movie makes me want to get there again soon!!

I like seeing how they take every scenes, cause i feel like virtual vacation, also the main character (the composer) so loveable and so artistic. The vibes of Bali not really strong but they really well to make my heart overwhelm. Great documentaries.

I was super intrigued and loved this film. I found it touching, entraining and learned a few things.

Despite of many contraventions about the producer, I personally find this film as something to be proud of. Glad that there still a young people who cares and passionate about oul culture. Keep up the good work!!! Hope to watch this genre of film again in the near future.

Bali Beats of Paradise, like the title i really feels the paradise when i visited Bali 4 years ago. This film reminding me of the warmest of sunset and sunrise in Bali, also for the tradition like dancing and the sounds of gamelan. It was unique and so interesting. There is a different feeling in Bali and you will get it only in Bali.

Later When you visit Bali oneday, you will know.. So Watch this film for a view of Balinese. Great movie afterall!

It was emotionally touching to me. I felt I got to know the people in the documentary and learned about their culture in a fantastic way.
