Routine Brit porn without Brit talent
As a true-blue admirer of Adult Cinema from England, I'm dismayed at how the local purveyors have either strayed (daring!, Harmony) or pulled the plug entirely (Bluebird) on their Prime Directive of advancing homegrown talent. Clearly Trump's "America First" rehash of ancient nativism has not spread to Blighty beyond the ill-advised Brexit vote, and certainly not to the nation's pornographers who, judging from their decade-plus swaying towards Eastern Bloc performers, would rather be Red than Dead.
That intentional overstatement of my case introduces this Harmony release spotlighting Yank superstar Dani Daniels, directed by house helmer and Tanya Hyde imitator "Scarlett Revell" but with no Brits or Scots or Irishmen or Welshmen (or even Manxmen) on view. That's because there are no males in the Lesbian cast, naturally, but where are the likes of Sam Bentley, Stella Cox, Jasmine Jae or Ava Dalush? Not even an up and coming local starlet like Georgie Lyall, Emma Hughes or my favorite Louise Jenson.
Instead Dani is surrounded by superstars from Chatsworth plus a token appearance of the ageless French great (often crossing the channel to appear for Harmony, JoyBear or daring!) Tiffany Doll. The five vignettes have the gals decked out and styled glamorously, but it is merely a gamahouche here, a trib there, and a strap-on thrown in for good measure that makes for a dull two-hours-plus. Enough to make one wish Dani would go back to her more lucrative boy/girl assignments.
Because auteur Scarlett is a Hyde devotee, there is plenty of fetish- gear worn and a bit of BDSM lite content, but it's all routine humping - just a chance for the hundredth (or thousandth time, depending upon the severity of one's sex addiction) to ogle true beauties ranging from Skin Diamond to Ash Hollywood. With all that sex eliciting yawns, I was most pleased with the brief coda, where one girl asks "What were you thinking about earlier?", referring to one of the sex scenes, and the partner replies, lying through her teeth: "I was thinking about you".
