With the long-awaited release of Universal and Blumhouse's adaptation of "Five Nights at Freddy's" coming this Halloween, horror fans unfamiliar with the long-running video game series of the same name have been trying to catch up on all of the lore in preparation. The original point-and-click survival horror game is extremely easy to understand (be a security guard and don't die from evil animatronics coming to life to kill you) but has since expanded to 13 games and 32 books/graphic novels. That's a hell of a lot of ground to cover, and an impossibility for a single film to capture. With both the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild -- American Federation of Television and Radio Artists currently on a dual strike until the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers provides an acceptable contract for both unions, there hasn't been a whole lot of information released regarding the film.

AMC ordered the series in June after acquiring the rights to 18 of Rice’s books in 2020 to turn them into a TV franchise overseen by Johnson.

The explosion of Horror in Asia towards the end of the millennium saw numerous classics, but as with most movements, drifted into overexposure and inferior cash-ins (yes “The Wig” we are talking about you!). Recently however, some signs of revival have started to appear in this genre. “The Mimic” follows on from 2016’s “The Wailing” with its rural setting and ancient magic overtones.
A family moves into a country house to recover from the disappearance of their son who vanished after the wife Hee-Yeon had left him with their dementia-afflicted mother. After an incident with their two other children, Hee-Yeon discovers a young girl in the forest and takes her home. Despite protestations from her husband Min-ho (who wants her to be taken to the police), the girl becomes a surrogate child. As mysterious voices afflict the household and dire warnings from a blind neighbour are given,...

While it is not very common to see South Korean actors dabble in film direction, it is not completely unheard of. Yoo Ji-tae, Ha Jung-woo and lately actress Moon So-ri have all directed films before, to name but three. The latest to follow in their footsteps is Kim Yoon-seok, whose debut film “Another Child” (literal Korean title “Underage”) is ready for release.
Synopsis
Not much is known of the story of the film yet, but it is said to be a family drama that portrays the experiences of A 17-year-old girl and her friend take on the world of abnormal adults in this family drama.
Based on Kim Yoon-seok’s track record as an actor, boasting of films like “The Chaser”, “Tazza: The High Rollers”, “The Yellow Sea”, “Sea Fog” and “Dark Figure of Crime”, the tone of the film in the trailer, which seems to come across as a dramedy and a coming-of-age story,...

I've got a creepy trailer here for you to watch for a new Korean horror film called The Mimic. I actually enjoy watching Korean films because of how freaky crazy they can get! This film is inspired by the South Korean urban legend of the Jangsan Tiger, which seems like something that would terrify people. Here's the synopsis that was released:
The Jangsan Tiger, who mimics human voices to lure them close, encounters a family affected by the creature. A classic Korean ghost story gets a horrifying new spin in The Mimic, as the mother of a missing child takes in a lost girl she finds in the woods and soon begins to wonder if she is even human.
You never want to take in a creepy stray girl that you find wandering around in the woods! That's just asking for trouble! The movie looks like something I'd enjoy, though.

Hard to believe it, but the summer season is officially upon us! And if you’re like us and are looking for a reason (or two) to escape the sun and unforgiving heat in the coming weeks, June has some excellent films arriving on various digital and VOD platforms that should keep you entertained while at home (and away from all that pesky sunlight and those bloodthirsty mosquitoes).
June’s VOD releases kick off on the 1st with IFC Films' Mary Shelley, a look at the life of the author behind one of the greatest novels ever written, and just a few days later, Pacific Rim Uprising, The Rake, and The Nursery make their digital arrivals. June 12th features a trifecta of terror—Night of the Virgin, The Mimic, and The Jurassic Games, and June 15th sees the release of the psychological thriller Inheritance, which debuted last year at 2017's Dances with Films.

"If you see the girl, it mean it's nearby." Well Go has released a new official Us trailer for a psychological horror film from Korea titled The Mimic. This is the latest feature made by director Huh Jung (Hide and Seek) and it plays with a twisted ghost story concept based on Korean folk lore. The story follows a family that takes in a lost girl they find in the woods, but she doesn't seem to even be human. It's based on the idea of the Jangsan Tiger, who mimics human voices to lure them close. The Mimic stars Yum Jung-Ah, Park Hyuk-Kwon, Heo Jin, Lee Jun Hyeok, and Shin Rin-Ah. This does look eerie and somewhat creepy, but this trailer doesn't make it very clear where it's all going. Is there really a monster, or is it just the girl? Here's the official Us trailer (+ international/Us posters) for Huh Jung's The Mimic,...
