A wonderful short film

I really loved this short film. It's funny, sad, surreal, and beautifully photographed. It's about a lost tricycle trying to find its owner and all the adventures it goes through to get back to her. I would love to know more details about how Mr. Gondry created this gem. He clearly had a lot of crew, according to the end credits.

brilliant short film

Michel Gondry made one of the most beautiful short films I know. So much directorial and screen writing inventions on such a short footage! Try to think where the little girl's dream ends... what is the dream and what is the reality? There are maybe some hints (dream giant tricycle, singing fish) ... as in some other Gondry's amazing films, the author expresses human dreams and desires in the most artistic way...

Tricycle Thriller! Or Drama! Or... ?

Should I write in French? It's a movie made with an iPhone 7. About a tricycle. She is the main character, a pink small tricycle. Once lost, she starts herself looking for the owner, a redheaded little girl who always has a red helmet on her head, even when she sleeps. Typic French! I liked a single scene, with the quartet of fish caught in the sea, singing. I'm convinced that Monsieur Gondry did nothing but trying to get familiar with an iPhone 7.

Emotion and items not working out well here (like with Pixar for example)

Warning: Spoilers
"Détour" is a pretty new 11-minute live action short film from 2017 written and directed by Oscar winner Michel Gondry and this means that it is a French French-language film with a French cast that includes Gérard Depardieu's niece among others. But the humans are just minor protagonists in here as this is the story of a trike and what happens to it, i.e. the journey it goes on, when the family that owns it accidentally doesn't take it with them on their vacation. As with Gondry, there's always fantasy elements included, most dominantly here in the form of singing fish on one occasion. But somehow here, it isn't really working out that well compared to some other projects by him from the past. But it's fine as not everyone can be a winner and maybe my personan bias, my complete lack of interest in riding bikes (or trikes) myself, may have to with me not liking for this one too much and with me not caring for the central object of the story and the people it comes across. I hope Gondry's future works will be better again as I have to give this one a thumbs-down and a negative recommendation, even if it is a close call at times. Watch something else instead.
