Just a couple episodes in, this is a surprisingly compelling document of the underreported and misunderstood story of the tainted blood crisis. Well acted and directed, Unspeakable is basically a period piece, accurately evoking early 80s Canada.

I'm enjoying every minute of it

I'm 4 episodes in. The message here is a complex and powerful one. I relate because I grew up in the 80's and I remember the stigma and fear that came along with this outbreak. I'm loving the actors...maybe I've watched a bit too much Scifi in my time but once I recognized Michael Shanks behind that beard I was all in. Then when Aaron Douglas showed up after a few episodes it got even better. Michael/Aaron....you guys rock!
History lesson

There is a famous saying "Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it." For those who don't know or don't remember where the most damaging health crisis in the history of Canada comes from, this is a must see series. How many mistakes were made and how many people could have done something but did not. Worst thing? Reality was far more disturbing. A family member was part of a team dealing with people infected by blood products and transfusions and has told me the series just glances over some of the most egregious aspects of this crisis. Watch it and wonder... why?
Unspeakably bad

Given the subject matter, this really had the potential to be a thought provoking and emotional story. Instead, it's a completely amateurish production with atrocious dialogue, bad acting, and one cliche after another. I gave up after 2 episodes.
So You Think Americans Wrote The Book On Screwing Each Other Over?

Well, Canada says 'Hold My Beer, Eh?'. It is unfathomable to see how despicable humans can be towards each other. I understand this production embellishes a bit for greater reaction but the facts, and the ignorance of facts, tell a tale of a global population that eat their own young. Now, decades later after the events of Unspeakable, Canada is viewed as just as vile as America in how it treats its own citizens. Centuries from now History will teach our ancestors how putrid the human race was in the 20th and 21st Centuries.

The topic of tainted blood is so important, but also not much is known about it. This series sheds light on this very important topic. I sincerely hope that more people watch and become informed. Excellent production, congratulations to Robert Cooper and team!
