A Landmark Concert Tour For the Biggest Names of British Punk Rock
abbazabakyleman-9883428 June 2019
Stiff Records was an underground record label formed in London, England to feature dedicated names in the world of punk rock music. In August 1977, a hevaily-promoted concert tour featuring five of the biggest names in punk music (Wreckless Eric, Larry Wallis, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, and the legendary Ian Dury) was organized for publicity of the fledgling company.

The real showcase is Ian Dury's band, The Blockheads, which consisted of Norman Watt-Roy on bass, Charlie Charles on drums, Johnny Turnbull and Chas Jankel on guitars, Davey Payne on saxophone, and Mick Gallagher on keyboards. This band would have greater success in the upcoming years. Despite the fact that the documentary lasts only over an hour, this is still a classic example of the new style of punk music.
