But it failed to be funny...

I stumbled upon the 2017 comedy "Lucky Fat Man" from writer Patrick Kong and director Jill Wong. I hadn't even heard about this comedy prior to now in 2020 as I sat down to watch it.

Well, I must admit that "Lucky Fat Man" was a swing and a miss. It fully fell short of managing to entertain me. Sure, I sat through the entire movie, but I can't claim to be impressed, nor particularly entertained. So why watch it to the end? Well, I felt that the movie had potential, so of course I wanted to give it a proper chance.

But director Jill Wong just didn't step up to the plate and delivered where it mattered. So for me, this movie came and went without leaving a lasting impression in any way.

The storyline was the cause of the movie being so boring for me. It just failed to capture my interest, and very little of any worth actually happened throughout the course of the entire movie.

It should be said, though, that the movie actually had a good ensemble of actors and actresses. Just a real shame that they virtually had nothing to work with in terms of a proper script and storyline.

For a Hong Kong comedy, then "Lucky Fat Man" failed on almost every account. As such, I am rating it a generous three out of ten stars.
