Sheldon states that the Space Shuttle is launched from Cape Canaveral. The Space Shuttles as well as the Apollo/Saturns were launched from Cape Kennedy. These are separate (but adjacent) facilities. Cape Canaveral is an Air Force Station for military operations (and currently for SpaceX landings).
This is mostly wrong. The name of Cape Canaveral was changed to Cape Kennedy in honor of Pres. Kennedy after he was assassinated in 1963 and remained that way for another ten years before it was permanently changed back to Cape Canaveral. There is a Kennedy Space Center, which controls the launches, but there is no Cape Kennedy.

Missy is seen reading a magazine published in October 1989 and the shuttle's Sunday launch is scrubbed due to weather, but there were no scheduled STS launches on any Sunday which were delayed by weather in 1989 or 1990. This is done for a reason. NASA is a real and highly secure organization. Mentioning anything that actually happened for fictional purposes is not allowed. For obvious reasons.
When the family discusses, NASA, Connie says she had a crush on John Glenn when she was a teen. The Connie character is said to have been born in 1926, she would have been in her 30s when NASA was created.
Sheldon makes the common mistake of mispronouncing Schrödinger's name the common English way instead of the correct German way.
