In February 2023, Netflix will remove a bunch of movie and TV series from its library,
Netflix UK and Netflix US takes down numerous titles each month without fanfare, meaning that many things on your watchlist could suddenly disappear.
These removals are due to licencing deals coming to an end. Often, the titles make their way back to Netflix in the following year, but sometimes they leave to go to other platforms.
This month sees a selection of Netflix Originals being taken down, also.
To minimise surprise, we have put together a comprehensive list of everything being removed in both Netflix UK and US.

Of the half dozen TV programs that each received at least five acting Emmy notices in 2022, “Squid Game” is the only one with no past contenders in its nominated cast. The quintet of Korean performers recognized for their work in the Netflix series’ first season range in age from 28 to 77 and have screen acting resumes that date as far back as 1994. One of the show’s three supporting nominees, Park Hae-soo, has earned this mention 15 years into his career, which has consisted of equal parts stage, film, and TV work.
Park has decided to have Emmy voters consider his performance in the inaugural season finale of “Squid Game,” entitled “One Lucky Day.” At the beginning of the installment, his character, Cho Sang-woo, stands as one of two finalists in the central contest, along with Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae). Noteworthy library titles arriving this month include “Fight Club” (1999), “Legally Blonde” (2001) and “The Silence of the Lambs” (1991).

With its list of new releases for September 2022, Prime Video is finally unveiling the most anticipated (and expensive) series in the streamer’s history.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will arrive to Prime Video’s servers on Sept. 2, 2022. This Lord of the Rings prequel, set in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Second Age, is in many ways the kind of TV property that Prime Video must have always wanted. It’s certainly the TV property most fitting with the company’s largesse and riches. The Rings of Power will cover the creation of the titular rings and many important events from Tolkien’s lore (condensed into a more TV-appropriate timeframe).
Middle-earth is going to be the happening spot on Amazon and the streaming world at large this month, but Prime Video does have a handful of other originals for the fantasy-phobic. Flight/Risk, a documentary about the Boeing 737 Max design disasters,...

It’s hard to believe 2022 is almost over. Kids are returning back to school, the seasons will start to change, and the fall television lineup will be here before you know it. With that, it’s time to start prioritizing what shows to give your free time to. Amazon Prime Video is going for broke this September, with the massive undertaking that is their adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” series, but that’s not all. Let’s take a look on everything coming to Amazon Prime Video in September.
The biggest show coming to Amazon Prime Video is, of course, the aforementioned “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” Though not associated with the spate of films directed by Peter Jackson as it’s a prequel, the trailers are playing up an equally ambitious and opulent sense of filmmaking. Amazon Prime Video is trying something different,...

Exclusive: Hae-soo Park, who played Squid Game finalist Sang-Woo, has signed with UTA.
The talent agency has signed the actor, who is currently fronting Netflix’s Korean remake of Money Heist, in all areas.
It comes after a major courtship by the Hollywood agencies to the cast and creatives behind the smash hit Korean dystopian drama series.
Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk and stars Lee Jung-jae and Jung HoYeon all signed with CAA, so it’s a coup for UTA to nab Hae-soo Park.
Hae-soo Park recently scored an Emmy nomination for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
He has previously starred in Netflix’s Korean dark baseball comedy Prison Playbook, Chimera, Persona, Legend of the Blue Sea, Six Flying Dragons, and God of War.
On the feature side, he was also starred in Time to Hunt, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, marking the first South Korean feature...

Seoul-based sales firm Finecut has picked up international rights to the “The Battle of Jangsari,” a Korean-produced war action film starring Megan Fox and the K-pop star Choi Min-ho and star of Netflix film “Illang: The Wolf Brigade.”
“Jangsari” is directed by renowned Korean filmmaker Kwak Kyung-taek (“Friend”) and Kim Tae-hun, with production by Taewon Entertainment, and presentation by Warner Bros. Pictures Korea. Taewon previously produced 2016 hit “Operation Chromite,” another Korean War movie, which starred Liam Neeson as U.S. Gen. Douglas MacArthur.
“Jangsari” depicts the 1950 Jangsa Marine landing operation during the Korean War. It involved 772 student soldiers — whose average age was 17 and had only received two weeks of boot camp training — who were deployed to pave the way for the larger Incheon Landing Operation, which was led by MacArthur and turned the tide of war against communist-backed forces from the North.
Fox depicts Marguerite Higgins, a war correspondent for the New York Herald Tribune.
