When Shelly Cohen wakes up at the hospital he uses a syringe to pick the lock on his handcuff. In reality, syringes are controlled items and would not be left lying around. Also, when he removed his heart monitor an alarm would have sounded at the nurse's station and someone would have responded immediately. Finally, his clothes would have been gathered as evidence and would never have been left behind in his hospital room.
