This modern (1954) adaption of the prodigal son is wonderfully refreshing, with unique additions that help to echo the key messages and themes of the original parable. It could so easily have been predictable, but with its excellent direction and believable acting, I hope it doesn't gather dust.
Of all the Christian movies I've seen, most underestimate the importance of camerawork, scene design and music. This My Son manages to shine in these areas, giving attention and significance to every area of the movie.
Overall, it's a heartwarming movie with a steady pace and a glorious, God-glorifying message from start to finish!
