Vanity Project

This film seems to base most of its ideas on a very flimsy platform of pattern recognition of vague or similarities and a boatload of personal opinion. Too many of the views are given without scholarly source attribution. Not only that, the logic used to connect seemingly disparate bits and pieces of historical events, many of which contain gaps measuring thousands of years, is simply jaw-dropping and would be savaged in scholarly debate. I was surprised to discover the listed production date listed as 2017-the tone and graphics seem more suited to the 80s.

Like a class

Warning: Spoilers
As a stock footage fire blazes on your screen, director, writer and narrator Philip Gardiner explains how giants once ruled our planet and created so much of our history, from the Garden of Eden to the Great Flood and all the secrets of the Book of Enoch. There's also a long stretch of names being translated. It basically feels like a college course that you get no grade for, just a credit, so if you're into that and want to know more about alien engineers, this movie is the place to be.

This is not a movie, its an essay!
neoanderson1214 January 2019
At no point of the movie does the narrator actually goes out an proves something. Its just a movie made by a bunch of nerds interested in Sumerian Archeology. The movie goes on for long translating names into English or syllables.

The movies has such bad sound. The background music and the voice of the narrator are not well balance and 90% of the movie is filmed against a cgi fire in the background!

Leaps of imagination and of logic!
profsmichael16 June 2018
What a flake. The leaps of logic are only matched by the incredible leaps of imagination that is required to tie any of this "information"/"proof" together! Presented as factual information, without any single shred of actual meaningful data. Poorly written and directed, as well as just a plain waste of everyone's time altogether. I thought this was a fictional movie... not a extremely bad documentary.

I sometimes enjoy these ancient alien tropes, as I find them generally and laughably entertaining. In this case, not even a grin crossed my lips. Just too darn boring, and inane to even laugh at for me.

I find Giorgio Tsoukalos a laugh riot. Philip Gardiner is noTsoukilakialalaos. I call him (Giorgio) that, as I will learn to actually pronounce his name when he can be bothered to pronounce the word extraterrestrial. Since he must say extraterrestrial a few hundred times on camera every outing, you would think he would put forth the effort wouldn't you? Nope. We get "essata-estial". Even your German (English is my second language) cult leader says it better than you do.

I digress. Anunnaki is just a terrible film by any measure. A poor IMDB rating, and this is the one and only review (as of this writing) should tell you something.

Stay far, far away.

Tired arguments lacking any science
iamMarkPrice25 March 2019
First and foremost it is important to note this is not a movie, it's a documentary at best or more aptly a video essay.

If you have ever read Erich von Däniken's "chariots of the gods" or watched "ancient aliens" on the History channel, you've already heard everything in this feature. Contrary to the synopsis, there is zero new information presented and absolutely no evidence let alone the science the synopsis promises.

You're safe to skip this one

Waste of time

I was looking for the information that was promised in the summary. That info was never supplied. I watched this documentary and came away with it as some sort of disinformation campaign with the purpose to get you to not delve into any research into the Anunnaki. Basically saying that it's just too hard or difficult to get anywhere if you try! Hogwash. You can easily learn a lot about the subject. Many rely on a series of books written by Zecharia Sitchin. Had they only just made a movie or video documentary of the book series The Earth Chronicles it would have been more informative and enjoyable to watch. When I see anything on video related to the Anunnaki I get excited! But sadly this attempt to enlighten us with the promised information that was never given was a disappointment for me.

This was a waste of my time and money

It's like the director belongs to a religion so he purposely didn't cover the fact that majority of the world belong or believe in faiths that stole their teachings from The Egyptians or Sumerians. Annunaki story makes sense when you factor in that so many of the things on these ancient tablets turned out to be true just in the last 30 years. Think about how fast we advanced in such a short period. I believe there are hybrids still living amongst us and there are those who are monopolizing the wisdom and hiding it to keep the people believing in organized religion so they could take their money. I believe there is a creator of all and the fact that woman go through pain to give birth is a sign that we were manufactured with alien DNA. Why is it that we don't have any protection from the elements like other species etc.

Historical, Informative. This is a documentary.
rssalibrici26 September 2021
I think those who rated this with 1 star, simply disagree with some of the concepts. The documentary presents a study of historic details, including writings and inscriptions. It's a broad view of historic content, studied by scientists in the field, with subjective correlations to what ppl believed. It's category is history, not paranormal.
