ABC has handed early renewals to drama series The Good Doctor and A Million Little Things and veteran unscripted series Shark Tank. The Good Doctor has been picked up for a third season, A Million Little Things for a second and Shark Tank for an 11th.
The Good Doctor, from Sony Pictures TV and ABC Studios, is averaging 11.2 million viewers and a 2.1 in adults 18-49, ranking as ABC’s most watched series and second highest rated in the demo behind Grey’s Anatomy. Despite facing hot new NBC drama Manifest, The Good Doctor has held its own and gradually reclaimed the top spot in the Monday 10 Pm hour.
A Million Little Things, co-financed by Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and ABC Studios, got off to an inauspicious ratings start but got stronger as the season progressed, buoyed by big delayed-viewing bumps.

Alec Baldwin on Wednesday pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment and agreed to take anger management classes stemming from a well-publicized parking spot dispute in New York City last year.
Baldwin avoided a more stringent assault charge as part of his plea, according to ABC 7 in New York. The 60-year-old actor was accused of punching a man after they argued over a Greenwich Village parking spot last November — a claim Baldwin denied.
Baldwin, in court documents, did admit to pushing the man after believing he stole his spot, according to ABC 7.
Baldwin will have to pay a mandatory fee of $120 and provide documentation he completed his anger management courses by March 27, according to Fox News. Pictures and video of the incident will also be destroyed, according to Fox News.

It’s been an Ok fall for the broadcast networks with a few solid new entries, NBC’s Manifest and New Amsterdam, ABC’s The Conners, CBS’ FBI, Fox’s Last Man Standing and the CW’s Charmed. Besides the two NBC dramas, no other new series probably qualifies as a breakout hit but there were no outright flops either that were quickly pulled or downgraded except for ABC’s Alec Baldwin talk show.
However, the performances of the new and returning series has been largely overshadowed this fall. The broadcast networks are at crossroads following unprecedented corporate upheaval, with none of the executives who were at the top of each network the same time last year in their posts now.
CBS Corp. CEO Les Moonves was ousted following a slew of sexual misconducts allegations, with Showtime’s David Nevins taking programming oversight of CBS and the CW. Bob Greenblatt...

Leading out of an NFL on Fox double header, The Orville launched Season 2 on Sunday night with 5.6 million total viewers and a 1.5 demo rating (per updated finals), up sharply from both its freshman average (4.3 mil/1.25 mil) and year-ago finale (3.5 mil/0.9) and marking its best numbers since Episode 2 of Season 1 (which also enjoyed a Sunday football boost).
TVLine readers gave the space dramedy’s return an average grade of “Pee.” I mean, “B.” A new episode airs this Thursday at 9/8c, in its regular time slot.
Elsewhere on the night, NBC Sunday Night Football (14.1 mil/4.0) is down 17 and 13 percent from last week’s fast nationals.

The crashing defeat handed to current Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles by the New Orleans Saints on Fox may have grabbed a big chunk of the NFL spotlight yesterday but NBC’s Sunday Night Football suffered its own stumble too.
While the Chicago Bears’ 25-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings topped the night on a full primetime on both broadcast and cable, the Comcast-owned net’s flagship pro-football show was down from both last week and last year.
In metered market results, last night’s Snf delivered a 12.3/21 rating for NBC.
While the third time in as many weeks that Snf has topped a 12.0 in the early metrics, that’s still an 8% dip from the November 11 Snf triumph by the almost always well watched Dallas Cowboys over the Eagles. Last night’s Week 11 Snf is also down 9% from the 2017/2018 season Week 11 metered market ratings when the Eagles tore...

With Thanksgiving just days away, heads of households and network chiefs alike are finalizing their family toasts. Should the execs raise a few too many glasses before it’s actually time for grace, we’re here to remind everyone of the TV shows each should be most thankful for.

It’s no surprise that NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” is TV’s top series again this season, with a 7.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 19.6 million total viewers. It’s also no shocker that the net’s “This Is Us” is the highest-rated (3.9) entertainment show.
What readers might not know though is that freshman series “Manifest” actually averages more total viewers (13.9 million) than does the Pearson-clan drama (13.8 million). Robert Zemeckis and the “Lost”-like series’ other...

Against NFL’s Cowboy-Eagles play and AMC’s The Walking Dead, former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Becoming Michelle special handed ABC its most watched Sunday this season with a five-month total-viewer high in the 9 Pm hour.
Becoming Michelle – A First Lady’s Journey, a 20/20 special, performed in line with timeslot regular Shark Tank in the demo.
ABC yanked The Alec Baldwin Show from its 10 Pm hour; last night Country Music’s Biggest Stars followed Michelle Obama’s interview, more than doubling Baldwin’s previous Sunday overall audience and improving the demo by 1/10th.
Michelle Obama’s sit-down built on its lead-in, Dancing with the Stars: Juniors which settled for its lowest yet numbers. ABC kicked off the night with America’s Funniest Home Videos.
CBS’s NFL overrun created usual big gains early in the night, though results may be inflated due to an 8-minute-past-half-hour football overrun.

Given Alec Baldwin’s recent on- and offscreen troubles, is his most high-profile job — playing President Donald Trump on “Saturday Night Live” — still secure?
Baldwin first played Trump on the NBC sketch show in October 2016, and has made nearly two dozen appearances doing the impression since then. In that time, Baldwin won an Emmy for best supporting actor in a comedy series for the role in 2017 and was nominated in the same category in 2018.
Baldwin has seemed to go back and forth on how long he wants to keep the appearances up, though. In an interview on the podcast “Origins With James Andrew Miller” back in September, Baldwin said, “I think I’m going to do some of it, but not a whole lot” in reference to how many appearances he would make as Trump on the current season of “SNL.” In that same interview, he also said, “You can...

Alec Baldwin, Cecily Strong, Rachel Dratch and Susan Lucci are among the stars heading to Broadway for a four-night stand of Celebrity Autobiography, the comedy in which celebrities read the memoirs of other celebrities.
The show will run on four consecutive holiday-season Mondays at the Marquis Theatre beginning Nov. 26. Each performance will include a different line-up of the rotating cast members (see below for the complete roster).
In addition to Baldwin, Strong, Dratch and Lucci, the cast includes Lewis Black, Mario Cantone, Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel and Antoni Porowski.
The teaming of Baldwin, Strong and Dratch reunites the Saturday Night Live players. The Baldwin casting is his first announced gig since his arrest in New York last week for allegedly punching a man over a parking space dispute. Yesterday, ABC moved The Alec Baldwin Show from Sundays to Saturdays.

The future is not looking bright for The Alec Baldwin Show.
ABC has pulled the talk show from its Sunday line-up and placed it on a previously unplanned hiatus.
When it returns to the air, it will be banished to Saturdays to finish out the rest of its run. Filling in for the failed series on Sundays will be encores of Shark Tank.
Yes, you read that right. ABC is shunning the series in favor of encores of another series. It just goes to show how much faith the alphabet network has in Baldwin's series.
All of the episodes were recorded prior to the series debut, or we could have been looking at an instant cancellation while production was underway.
The series launched last month to just over 2 million viewers, but last Sunday's episode secured just 1.5 million viewers, making it a likely cancellation.

The Alec Baldwin Show is coming off ABC’s Sunday schedule. Beginning Sunday, Nov. 18, ABC will air repeats of Shark Tank in the talk show’s Sunday 10 Pm time slot.
Baldwin’s talk show will return to the air on Dec. 8 in a new time slot, Saturday, 10 Pm, following the end of college football. Saturday is considered a graveyard for burning off shows that are destined for cancellation.
The decision comes after four very low-rated episodes of The Alec Baldwin Show on Sunday and a controversy surrounding Baldwin’s arrest last week over assault allegations. In its most recent outing, The Alec Baldwin Show drew 1.47 million viewers in Live+same day and a 0.3 adults 18-49 rating.
