I found Vic Lagina's work at Digital Playground molto disappointing, but was not prepared for him to darken the doorstep of sister label Brazzers with even worse content. This junker providing a platform for Xander Corvus to make a horse's ass of himself provided a 2-hour must-skip DVD besides its web version that IMDb euphemistically and misleadingly calls a "tv series".
It's a cheapjack spoof of those VH1 "Behind the Music" documentaries, a ridiculous concept for porn or anything else, akin to parodying "Spinal Tap" (itself perhaps the most famous parody documentary of all time). Parodying parody is an exercise in futility.
So we have Xander for 2 hours on such a loose leash courtesy of non-director Lagina that he screams, mocks and carries on as if in an Acting Class sponsored by the Razzies Awards selection committee. All of the excesses and tics that often mar a Corvus acting performance are here on steroids, in service of making fun of the egotism, hubris and general bad behavior of a stereotypical rock star.
But Lagina & Corvus are not content with that but add the conceit of a rock star being also a porn star, not the Urban Myth of sex videos for the likes of Hendrix or Chuck Berry but the usual demented notion of sour grapes porn talent and pornographers. Sure, Xander and Vic would like to be mainstream artistes, but given the low quality of this DVD who on Earth would give them a shot? So they make fun of their "betters".
The satirical humor here is so obvious as to be consistently unfunny, just nonstop groan-inducing. And the sight of Xander humping away with an endless array of femme Brazzers stars is wearying. Yes, he's the only male stud in the cast, itself hardly a porn novelty given the ego-driven thousands of videos cranked out by the likes of Manuel Ferrara, Nacho Vidal and almost everyone on Buttman's payroll.
So here are faves ranging from Angela White to Brazzers' current Numero Uno gal Romi Rain going through the motions, Romi especially poor casting as a big singing star running into Xander during the cliched Star Is Born declining phase of his character's career. A group sex with him being the only rooster in hen house including Lena Paul, Gina Valentina and Abigail Mac is self-indulgence at its worst.
