Excellent! Well-developed historical series.

The series The Real War of Thrones was absolutely awesome from beginning to end. Well-developed characters, solid acting, solid directing, and pretty good period specific dress, armor, and fight scenes. Very little drawbacks to this and, it is so good, you'll actually forget in some places that you're watching actual history. It is these kinds of pieces that can keep younger generations enthralled in history while older generations are reminded (and maybe learning for the very first time) about European history while being entertained.

Good but has flaws

You can tell they didn't have a big budget, which is not necessarily bad. What I don't care for is the battle reenactments with about a dozen role players, when the actual battles had many thousands. Don't show the battle if you aren't babe to do it justice. Still, good information was presented and they did a decent job of explaining the actions and motivations of the leaders.

Poor writing

I enjoy historical shows, and enjoyed this as well. But the writing was so poor, it absolutely pulled me out of the story. It would talk about something that happened. But then the next sentence would pretend like some shocking twist happened. It also jumped around a bit. But it was still a good watch.

Just be forewarned that you can expect the narration to go something like my review above, with almost every other line starting with "but". But don't make it a drinking game, or you'll be history yourself!

Warning: Spoilers
Being an historian, mainly interested in the Wars of the Roses (Cousins) thought I would wach as much as I could about what preceded my period of interest. Could not find the first two programmes of War of Thrones actually started with E3 but was surprised to find the first date on he screen was 1461, then it proceed to go forward many years not one mention of the Hundred YearsWar which ended in 1455. Gave up watching.
