... not that it's a terribly bad series just that it is not that interesting & much comes off as illogical-dumb ... so why bother spending hours watching over eight episodes a program appearing to be ended after one season.

Not that bad
jiatwll1 June 2021
The story line lends itself to a lot of interesting direction but not always has any follow through. The scenary in NZ is stunning, the acting is OK for the most part and it holds your attention. It's not near as bad as some US made shows I've seen and some of the critics haven't really been very objective here.
Why was it made?

Every cliche you can imagine
callladd2 March 2020
The first episode was interesting but the show went downhill quickly and I couldn't force myself to finish watching the series.
From the nerdy tech "genius" to the rouge cop to the foul-mouthed mob boss to the grieving good guy with a lovable father it was just one cliche after another. And I don't know what accent the character Huss had but I needed subtitles to understand what he was saying even though he was speaking English.
The only reason I gave rated this 3 stars was for the NZ scenery, that alone almost made it worth watching.

Sometimes

Sometimes something interesting, different, creative happens in a crime series other than repeating ad nauseam the same food over & over & over again. Well, not this time. As usual we have our love interest; our thievery & killing; our gang against gang; our good guy/gal - bad guy/gal cops; our computer hacking nerd. Sometimes it can be rescued by good acting, dialogue, etc. not this time. "Bron" "The Bridge" it is not.

'Terrific ... starts with intense, high-octane action' TV America/Mike Hughes
'Combining the icy intrigue of Nordic Noir and the lush scenery of 'Lord of the Rings'' Universal Syndicate
'Great acting' TV Worth Watching.
Waste of time- so embarrasing to watch

I dont think I ever have seen a worse TV series!! The cast is terrible and especially the daughter has made me wonder if it really takes no talent at all to call yourself an actress/actor? Makes me embarrased to be a Dane!! If a minus star could be submitted I would have chosen it.
This should be good

Warning: Spoilers
But really there are things that transcend suspension of disbelief. Adult career criminals, hunted by killers with essentially unlimited resources allow a moody, petulant teen access to a phone and an iPad (?) whilst running for their lives.
Come on. Do better.
Come on. Do better.
How did this even get made?

Really Three times

Warning: Spoilers
Series could have been 3 episodes but no one slapped the impetuous 16 year old in the face and say stay off internet and phone you have risked people's lives. Even after she herself is kidnapped and saved nobody tells her stay off phone you idiot. Come on. Ridiculous.
Terrible on All Counts

The basic plot premise is interesting, but the acting and direction are terrible. The bad guys act almost like Keystone Cops, At times I am embarrassed by how poorly this is acted and staged. A complete waste of time - clearly one of the worst series of this type that I have ever seen. Whoever gave this a 10 must be a shill.
Horrible B Grade Series
qui_j15 June 2019
If you are looking for any trace of Scandinavian Noir in this series, don't even waste your time. It's a pretty horrible B Grade series with equally terrible acting. The plot is disjointed from the start, and consists of a series of disconnected scenes that seem to follow one another in some random way. You know after the first 20 minutes or so that you should not continue wasting time to watch this, as the time you lose, you will never get back! Horrible and terrible are the two words that best describe the series!
Horrible acting.

Great show, watch it

Story and scenery great. A lot of wonderful actors, you'll enjoy watching and rooting for or against. The combination of language works well .. subtitles less as show progresses, later in show they come at lovely times
It's like The Asylum made a show or something.

There's literally nothing I can add that hasn't been added by the other negative reviews, all of which are perfectly accurate. The two good reviews are clearly either some troll copypasting or work for the show in some fashion. This is not worth watching, please don't waste your time!
FIRST EPISODE GOOD, THEN DISSOLVED INTO A VIOLENT MOB SHOW
daftrancenergy22 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This started out as a seemingly clever con artist show with some great costumes/disguises. It was fast moving and lots of action through the first episode. Then in episode 2 the stupidity of the plot started to take over and it suddenly was no longer a fun ride but a very violent mob show and it lost all it's appeal. I started episode 3 three different times but after a couple of minutes of people threatening and beating I could not continue. It felt like some bad Scorsese/Deniro movie from the 80's and who wants to watch that redundant crap.
Other reviews mention bad acting but the script is so unbelievable that the best actors would have a hard time selling this dog. Very inconsistent.
In one scene someone who is on the run says they don't want a gun so they don't take one even though they know they are being hunted. Then when she is afraid she grabs a knife. Who brings a knife to a gun fight! Bad writing, bad plot, bad series. Too bad because it showed so much promise in the beginning.

This is a real mess of a drama.

I wanted to watch this, I really did, I love New Zealand, but after watching episode 3, I just could not subject myself to another 5 episodes of this drivel.
It was all so clichéd, so many old, tired storylines, nothing new.
At times it just became farce, like disposing of something into a kitchen bin with no chance that it would not be discovered, and Sylvia wanting to leave the country incognito, so she dresses in a bright redhead wig and a slash of bright red lipstick. Surely a Plain Jane disguise would have been far more effective, but of course it would not have shown off Cecilie Stenspil's (Seaside Hotel) stunning high cheek bones. It reminded me of the classic scene in 1960s Batman, where he and Robin mingled at a party trying to be inconspicuous.
It takes about 35 hours and 3 flights to get from Copenhagen to Queenstown, but this was not represented in the timeline at all. It seems to take her all of 30 seconds to get there.
A really annoying aspect of these types of dramas is the way they throw away burner phones instead of just changing the sim card. Less dramatic, I suppose.
The language is appalling. It is a good example where profanities can be really offensive, especially by the loathsome Ravn character.
This is a joint Denmark/New Zealand production, and I am afraid it is the latter which drags it down. The acting is simply awful, and the characters supposedly based in Copenhagen all have New Zealand accents and obviously couldn't attempt a Danish accent, so spoke in English, unlike the Danish actors who spoke in Danish, with subtitles. Huss spoke an inaudible language all of his own.
As ever, the scenery in New Zealand is great, but you can't get away with that every time.
