Movie of ancient Bangla villagers
abrpritom27 April 2021
A good movie.

Understandable and focussed on a boy whose family members are quite different from each other and have an unique characteristics of their own.

Meanwhile, a lost children since many years who became a robber, finds his lost family ( the Raj Bari) where he went to loot and fortunately his father and mother can recognize him and make a great celebration.

Disastrous.

Warning: Spoilers
I think they have failed to catch the essence of the classic funny story and bring the output on the screen. There is intellect but no heart at all. Firstly, casting is not good. Bratya Basu as Baradacharan ? He is a bit older for that role. There is no character study I think. The director should read all Baradacharan stories betore making this film. He ruined the characters. Chronological faults are there also. I think the film's story is set in the 1970s. Then how come Kandarpanarayan in his childhood (that's in the 1950s) could recite the nonsense poem translated by Satyajit Ray ? There are so many other faults like that. Another thing that I can't bear is the excessive use of pun. Some scenes are good (like the 'cowfighting' scene, use of animated cartoons) but they can't save the movie.

Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely nonsensical with no depth or meaning whatsoever! Just a series of event put together poorly with meaningless songs and couples to add to the misery. Don't remember watching such an awful Bengali movie of late.

Look I will be very practical..the only director who could have done justice to Sirshendus books would have been Ray and only Ray..Sirshendus spun a web of fantasy which is very difficult to portray in a movie But nobigonjer doitto made a nice attempt I had high hopes because of the great cast here ..Soumitra,Bratya,Rojotavo..but it was a complete let down

Rubbish

Just because of low level direction this film should be thrown into a dustbin. Overacting and meaningless comedy create irritation among the viewer. I was compelled to stop watching this movie within half an hour. Its a fully dull movie.
