oh noes a deal! The writers return to the same well once too often
CubsandCulture24 October 2021
I'm not sure why they bothered to turn Lily into a frenemy. She is only in two episodes and it's not like she was the most interesting character. They force a redemption plot for a very minor character because apparently the writers had no idea what else to do.

This would also explain why Cas makes deal, like John, Dean, Sam, Mary etc. Etc. Etc. This trope is really stale at this point.

Best episode of the season yet!
LynksD7 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Jack dying was extremely emotional. Jensen and Jared did a fantastic job. And when Sam said he couldn't even make the pyre for him, my heart sunk.

Jack being able to hop through doors, because he is part angel, and thus meeting Kelly for the first time was also fantastic.

Lilly and Anubis did a fantastic job too, not to mention Duma playing The Shadow (which was creepy as hell).

I have nothing negative to say about this episode. Perfect.

How do they do it?

14 seasons in and this show still manages to bring me to tears, have me on the edge of my seat and surprise me. Cudos to the writers, divine cast and crew. Not all episodes hit the spot lie this one - but that's an impossibility! I hope this show lasts a while longer because the 14 seasons so far have been a highlight and a blast!! Thankyou!!

A journey to heaven

Warning: Spoilers
Even though this is season 14 but I still feel like that this show has too much to offer. For example, in this episode we witness a fantastic character development with Jack and we realized that he is indeed a Winchester.

One thing this whole supernatural series has taught me is there is always hope and even when the times are the darkest there can be light when you know where to look ...🙌🏻👍🏻

Crazy girls!
luvbugu17 December 2018
Tonight had 2 crazy women. but, I have to say the one playing the nothing( Erica Cerra) was awesome! I will never look at her again without thinking what a bad idea it would be to break up with her! What a great actress!

Rating is far too low!
sonofdisaster1829 January 2020
This episode is at the very least deserving of a 9/10. It had every emotion you wanted in a supernatural episode and more! One of the best episodes of the season, easily...Great performances by Jensen and Jared! It almost had the feeling of a season finale. It had Big time story and character development. It will go down as one of the more underrated Supernatural episodes and really shows how much The Winchester's/Castiel care for Jack. I also loved Lily Sunder story. Great set up and payoff for only a character who was technically in two episodes. Great writing and exciting pace!

So much heart
arshdeep-6143817 April 2020
Lily Klien's reaction when Jacks says, "Whatever comes throught that dorr, I'll distract it, so you can run", showing a mother proud that her son had turned up good, is so heartwarming.

Mythology extended
shwetafabm9 August 2020
I like it usually when they tackle the mythology. And we see a lot of things cleared up. A question i have had since S5 was that where will the boys go when they die when the angels hate them. I think its a bit cleared up. I think the resolution of bringing Jack back was fine enough BUT the deal made zero sense to me, it seemed to exist just to add tension.

Sigh...
songod-9500315 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Once again no one can die. Not Bobby, not the red head (both back from an alt universe), not the mom, not Jack. Not one single popular character from this show has ever really died except Crowley and the actor did not want to return. Sucks any dramatic tension right out of the show (I understand the dad is making a comeback too! JDM will guest star sometime this season). Still good in many ways, but dreary when eps like this pop up.

Jack should have died. Real death. Was he so beloved by the fans??

Darker as always
rickysayet12 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
One of the thing i like about about supernatural is its tedency to show a christian mythology and other mythology. Include this episodes too where once again "the empty" exist to this world and tries to claiming jack souls. This is where an episodes shows that both of it emotional and at the same time goes darker. Solid perfromers from erica cerra for playing duma and the empty.

One of the best episodes made
jackiehedstrom13 September 2022
Beautifully written and acted - such an emotional, stong and engaging episode. Actually made me cry, and that's hard to do! The story is stellar, the acting is brilliant and I do think they all get to shine due to the excellent writing (same writer that wrote "Regarding Dean", which was a 10 out of 10 episode aswell)) - even the best actors need a script they can build on. Jensen, Misha, Jared, Alex, were great as usual, but the two ladies - Courtney Ford as Kelly and Veronica Cartwright as Lily Sunder were excellent.

I think episodes like this are why this show has lasted so very long - when they grab you emotionally, play on the loyalty, family and love, and tone down the horror-aspect in favour of just magic, angels, sacrifice and an undying willingness to do whatever it takes. This is the magic coctail of Supernatural.

Absolutely perfection.

The reason for my rating is quite simple
MariaLBD13 February 2021
The reason for my rating is quite simple: not enough Sam and Dean. The brothers and their relationship are the heart and soul of this show and any episode that doesn't focus on them seems empty to me.
