When the bailiff Baru inspects the home which has been looted, its residents handed and slaughtered, he asks, "Who would do this? Sadists? ...Satanists?" But the Marquis de Sade, from whom we take the name "sadist", would have only been about 8 years old at the time of this story, 1749, and would not publish his writinf for at least another 30 years. Oopsie! Likewise, we must wonder if the label "satanist" is not also anachronistic.
