Well I loved it

Surprised to read so many bad reviews of this episode! I thought it explores the adult characters' vulnerabilities really well, showing how they have changed from the people they were in series 1. Perhaps it's a little short on laugh-out-loud basic comedy moments but it was a very entertaining and loveable episode with enough relatable humour to keep me smiling

LOL Fun In This Episode.

The Wild:

Claire helps Haley with a frustrating crib bed.

Gloria "changes"?

Jay plans his wooded adventure into the woods.

Phil,Cam,Mitchell go along with Jay in the woods.

The gals help Haley's pizza delivery guy friend get back at some nasty college students

The guys get trapped in overbearing small cabin away from there own food and even some bears?

This episode was very funny and it will have you laughing (In a good way) throughout the episode.

A Great Episode.

Reminds me of Happy Days...

... and how horrible it became toward the end of its run. I've seen every episode of MF and this episode was absolutely cringe-worthy. The only reason I kept watching was so I could continue to say that I watched every episode.

This has to be one of the worst episodes ever

This season is really bad. The writing is terrible. It's like the writers don't even know the characters. Phil is treated like a total dummy; Clair is an idiot--how does she run a company. Alex is extremely rude; in fact everyone in the cast is mean to one another. I used to love this show but now I don't know if I can suffer through it any longer. What happened to the original writers? How did it get renewed for yet another season?

Please tell me this is the last season, the only reason I am still watching this drivel is out of hope that it gets better (it hasn't )

Worst episode of all

I honestly enjoy this show. However, this was easily the worst episode, not just of Modern Family, but of any sitcom I've watched in years. Terribly unrealistic and cliche.

Love this show but what the hell was this episode?

Warning: Spoilers
I never post any reviews but I had to somehow let the producers and writers of this know that as a fan of this show since season one I actually have cringed at this season but this episode spurred my to actually comment here.

What was this? Seriously have the team actually run out of ideas and just want to drive this show into a wall for its last season? Hurting a pizza boy and then delivering his pizzas with him? Going out into the woods with a private guide and staying in a run down shack that was probably better than some posh carpenter built cabins? Come on! Please don't leave it finish up with a season this bad and an episode like this one this bad.

I and my family love this show but quality control seems to be completely thrown out the window.

Even the shark is looking out of the pool and wondering why the hell someone hasn't jumped him by this point!

Worst episode ever.

I have rated MF so highly from the beginning. It's smart writing, acting, directing. However, this episode was so lame it feels as though it should be ommited from any box sets of the series. The plots were really poor and very bland, schmaltzy all the way through. Having mentioned that, everyone has an off day. It's not a bad return on 230 episodes that this is the annoying wasp spoiling a beautiful cake.

A tale of two sub-par storylines
studioAT11 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Every long running show has weaker episodes as the years go by, as it gets harder to find new material.

This isn't the best episode of S10, probably up there with the 'DeDe dies' episode in terms of the worst.

The boys storyline is better than the girls (which seems oddly Christmas themed when in other episodes we've been in Spring) but again is covering topics we've seen before. It was nice to see them explore the depths of the characters though, with the Mitch and Jay moment in particular being nice.

I won't talk about the girls story, other than to say it's weak.

An episode to skip sadly.

Surprised at the better reviews. I love this show, but this was a huge miss. So contrived and forced. Just a dumb episode of a brilliant series.

It was struggling last season. This season has sunk to lower depths. Heck I laughed and chuckled during seasons 1-9 now I wonder whether I can stay awake. The writing is laboured, the jokes non existent. Where once they poked fun at modern mores, now they are just the embarrassing uncle at a wedding.
