(I hate number ratings so none here). I've been slowly watching the show. I was surprised by the detour this episode took. I thought this was one of the most cinematic episodes with less dialog and more visual storytelling. Lots of symbolism that I'm still unpacking. Does Ridgeway's fall mirror Lucifer's? The devil is cut off from God? The coat parallels between Ridgeway and the escaped enslaved man caught my attention. I can't decide if there was a reference to the Joseph story in the Bible. In the horrible scene at the well, Arnold was 1) jealous of Mack and 2) may have thought Mack might see the spirit though pain like he need with the rake. He was too cowardly to try it himself.
