Crazy ex thriller
phd_travel12 December 2019
A woman has a secret new life away from an abusive killer man. She has his kid. But her Mother lets it slip and he's after her. Meanwhile she has a new love. When the ex takes her kid she's in a dilemma since she faked her death.
The kid looks old enough not to get in a car with someone he doesn't know. It's a moderately watchable Lifetime style thriller. Especially when the kid tries to run away from the dad. The cast is okay. The heroine is quite believable, bad guy looks bad, the good guy looks good. And the ending is alright.
Ugh

Seriously?? What kind of woman has her child kidnapped by an abusive psycho ex boyfriend and doesn't do anything? Doesn't call 911? Doesn't go out looking for him? But confides in a man she only had 1 date with? Are you kidding me!
SPEAK UP!!

This isn't a review of the film, but a comment on one aspect of it.
Whoever was responsible for the sound needs to go back to film school. It was very difficult trying to hear what anyone was saying for most of the film : almost every line sounded like it was being delivered by someone with a mouth full of cotton wool, a bunged-up noise, and a bucket on their head (worst culprit was main villain Gino Anthony Pesi). And that was even before the awful music started DROWNING EVERYTHING OUT.
If you do ever watch this film, activate the subtitles before you start.

Predictable but entertaining
info-3516419 May 2019
The plot is totally predictable and it's obviously a low-budget thriller, but I still found it thoroughly entertaining. Perfect for a late-night guilty pleasure. The sound had problems and parts of the movie were definitely laughable, but it is what it is. Just what I wanted. And the acting wasn't half bad.
I made an account just to review this film.

Great plot, but not a good way to approach or succeed in it.
Besides the predictable plot, the sound was terrible. The music was louder than the actors. I had a hard time even with subtitles.
I liked where the storyline was heading, but the approach was just ridiculously bad...
Amazing, must watch

This movie is so bad I don't want to be the only one who's seen it. I rated it 10 so that I can trick people into watching this as netflix had tricked me. There are sections where I feel the kid acted better but then I felt wow no. 10/10 people shouldn't watch this.
A lot of fun

Low production thriller similar to Sleeping with the Enemy. Storyline is unbelievable like a lot of made-for-tv movies, but I actually thought this one was a lot of fun. Moved quickly and I thought the lead actress did a really great job! The main guy/ villain was great too. Some of the other actors were not as believable and the writing was definitely not great, but it's a made-for-tv movie so I gave it some slack.
The sound was absolutely the worst part of this movie. You sometimes can't hear what some of these characters are saying which was a huge turn-off. But other than that, I really enjoyed it. Get a pint of ice-cream and just indulge in some bad thriller drama!

This is the worst movie ever. It should be illegal to put trash like this out and waste the valuable time of the American citizen. It was predictable with a bad storyline and bad acting. Everyone is talking about the music being too loud. I guess so. The music for me wasn't even the issue. The big issue for me was just the bad writing and acting. A lot of the movie just made no sense. For example, when Danny was at the motel. Once he got free, he should have ran for his life and contacted the police. Once the mother found out what was going on and where he was, she should have contacted the police. Why didn't the motel lady call the police immediately? If it was me, I would have locked the doors, pulled the shades, hid the boy, called 911, grabbed my gun and waited for help. Then the boy called the mom from the front desk office. The motel lady is standing there like she doesn't give a darn. Meanwhile I think it was obvious there was a problem and he needed help. Then they come back home to get his stuff to flee. I stopped the movie at that point. I couldn't go on. Even though I wasn't paying attention that much, presumably the father knows where they live right? Why would they go back there? What if he was following them? And then she sends him up alone to get his stuff. Once she got him back from the father, it should have been straight to the police. Why didn't she speak to him about the father? This way he would know and wouldn't have gone with him. Why did he go with a stranger in the first place? Why did the school allow it? Where were all the kids and his teacher? I don't think he ever saw the dad right? So why would he just jump into a car with a stranger? I mean there's just so many stupid things that happen in this film. I could go on but I won't. Just do yourself a favor, don't watch it.
Questionable decisions

I'm not sure how I watched this whole thing. Terrible acting. Terrible story. She basically knew her boyfriend just long enough to get pregnant. Then she fakes her own death so he doesn't know where she is. If her ex was so dangerous, she would've done lots of things she didn't. First off, her mom would've known how dangerous he was because she would have told her. Second, she would have told her son about how dangerous his father was. She wouldn't have lied and said he was in the military. If I were in the situation, I would've said "your father and I dated for a very short time. He wasn't the man I thought he was. And when I got pregnant with you, I knew you wouldn't be safe. So I had to get you away from him." That alerts the son to how dangerous his father is without telling him details. Then he wouldn't have gone off with the father because he would've known. Third, she would've informed everyone at the school of his dangerous father. They would've been given a photo. There would be security measures in place. Next, she would've known when he was released from prison because she would've followed it. And finally, she would've learned self defense and protection. This is just ridiculous.
I loved it, haven't laughed so hard in awhile

This movie made me laugh so hard. I loved it 😅😂 you have clues as to how poor quality it is at the beginning. Note that "Anna's" mother is so dumb and clueless she seems to have early onset dementia .
The fun really begins though when Nick comes back on the scene. Literally every reaction of every person is totally illogical. The motel front counter lady also seems to suffer from dementia sadly and has no understanding of any situation she's put in. A scene where the mother who goes into the police station to report her son missing and in the hands a known killer but just can't bring herself to report it because, how will all this reflect upon her? Also this is filmed in a world with no 911 service where everyone must solve their own problems themselves. Such fun. All three stars were for the unintentional comedy.

😂 Worst Acting...

This film should be taught in every film school as what NOT to do when making a film.
1. The plot is played-out and predictable. 2. The hair and wardrobe is atrocious on every "actor," especially the wigs for the main character in the flashback sequences. 3. The acting is horrendous and overdone. Soap opera-esque without the talent. 4. The Score is way too loud for normal people to actually want to sit through this garbage, hence me watching 20 minutes and then realising it's not going to get better. I fast-forwarded to see if I was correct, and I was. 5. The writing is the worst I think I've ever seen (and I WORK in film.) The opening scene was a major tip-off at how terrible this film would be. Always go with your gut.
Save your time and hearing and avoid watching this film. And that one 10/10 that is up here? That's clearly someone who has money invested in this rubbish film's way of hoping to recoup any costs wasted on this joke of a film.

The case of trying to find something to watch on tv results in going to online apps to find
Hidden In Plain Sight
The movie has the feel of a direct to video release and it is easy to see why with the production values.
It also feels like one of those movies you can find on tv without even trying.
The acting in the movie is decent at best because you can tell the cast were working with what they had.
The music does overlapped the dialogue sometimes so unless you got close caption you're going to be missing out of what the cast is saying.
The story is about a woman who is trying to keep her son safe from her twisted ex husband.
It's one of those movies you're either going to be interested in or avoid it's your choice
It's just a case of having something to watch
I give Hidden In Plain Slight a 6 out of 10

So, this movie was just okay. Nothing to write home about. I typically judge a movie off of its plot. Although the plot was good there were a few things that were horrible.
1. The sound! OMG!!! Not sure who was in charge of it but I felt like I missed half of the movie because the music was louder than the cast.
2. The acting was mediocre. Some actors were good but the majority of them could use some more acting classes.
3. Since I pay attention to detail, I couldn't help but see that when Katie was on the bridge wardrobe had her tuck her bra straps, TACKY! They could've given her a strapless bra.
Other than those obvious flaws, the movie was okay.
