Usually I read rather than write reviews on IMDB but I am writing this after a weekend of compelling spellbound binge watching. As good as Kashyap was with Gulaal, which I rate much higher than his more well known Gangs of wasseypur, here he exceeds all expectations. The way he seamlessly integrates into Vikram Motwane's efforts it is hard to believe that the movie had two distinct parts directed by two different directors. Kashyap apart, Vikram is also at the top of his game matching Kashyap's restraint humor and visual brutality equally and often even surpassing him. The complete team is at the top of its game. The script is taut with very little space to breathe after the first episode with remarkable dialogues interspersed with the occasional humorous rant on India's present and past political set up. Saif Ali khan as Inspector Sarjit presents another restrained act that showcase his evolution from a tree hugging silly Romeo to an actor of immense skill. Radhika Apte efficient as usual is a bit underutilized with parts of her character not deeply investigated but that maybe how it is with the book which I have not read yet. Nawazuddin Siddiqui blows the screen apart in the gangster with a god complex role. Several actors like Kubbra Sait (playing perhaps the most authentic normalized version of a transgender ever presented on the Indian screen) come up with small gem of performances. Rest assured Sacred Games will change the way TV series are made for the Indian audience.

Not good enough.

I don't understand why this series is so popular even more than Mirzapur which is far much better than Sacred Games. I am not saying this is useless but it have many boring subplots. What if it was just a detective series not the one which goes in past and tell useless stories even more fictional. I mean in the whole season we have not even seen Guruji clearly and Gationde, he is dead🙄. The main two characters hidden in dark. But I watch this because of the twists and suspense especially the ending was awesome, waiting for next season but less than Mirzapur 😐.
