Many actresses and actors reprised their roles from Summer Things (2002), with the exception of Gaspard Ulliel, who was replaced by Guillaume Labbé in the role of Loïc. In the film's press kit, director Michel Blanc explained his decision to replace Ulliel: "Gaspard, who was just starting out at the time, became a star. By taking him, I risked losing the choral side of the film (editor's note: in French, "film choral" means "ensemble film"). I explained my problem to him - I didn't want him to feel left out - and I looked for another actor, very different. From the tests, I knew that Guillaume Labbé had the balance and the solidity which suits the son of Véronique. He is the only one of this family to have common sense. He has everything on his back and he assumes responsibility. He replaced the father", the director said.
Filming took place in Paris, notably at the Paris-Montparnasse station and in Cabourg in Calvados.
