I enjoyed very much this journey through the Vendée: a great diversity of landscapes (beaches, islands, bocage and marshland) and nice encounters.
There are some interesting aspects of the Vendée: the beaches (250 kilometers of beaches along the coast, the beaches of Saint-Jean-de-Monts, Antoine and Noémie taking away the plastic wastes, Laurent-the patroller on the boat of the French national police, Marie and her two daughters enjoying the beach, Garance-the female photographer- ,Mrs Henri and the cabin at the beach), Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and the sardines ( Gaëtan Jaulin, the fisherman, the fishing of 1,5 ton of sardines, Claudi and the Gentreau cannery, the making of sardine cans, Serge Doux and his food truck-the grilled sardines-), the island of Noirmoutier ( the tidal causeway of Gois, Les "Foulées du Gois", a road running race of 4 kilometers, a limited number of runners), Notre-Dame-de-Monts and the winds ( Alain the kite artist and his paintings in the sky, the plantation of cypresses-Cindy the environmental agent-, Maurice and the windmill, the kite festival-Fabien the kite flyer-), the falconer of the Puy du Fou ( Riboui and the care for the falcons and an eagle owl, the falcon flight in the spectacle, Johannes and the care for the young birds) and the marshlands of the Vendée (Anne-Louise-the "écopasteur"- and the care for the cattle and horses in the Marais de Curzon, James and the thatch roofs of the "bourrines", the tradional dances at the "Bourrine du Bois-Juquaud", the traditional costumes and the folkloric dances).
I enjoyed the encounters of Jérôme withJean-Luc Van den Heede at Less Sables d'Olonne, , with Michel Herbert-the shipwright and the restoration of old boats-, with Dan Arnaud-Aubin, the artist at the Penotte neighborhood, with Emilie Sage and Céline on the island of Yeu, with Françoise Poisson and Patricia Chapeau in the island of Noirmoutier, with Damien Merceron (the hot air balloon flight), with Quentin Merceron at the Puy du Fou, with Marie Besse-the volunteer costmer at the Puy du Fou-, with Richard, the miller at Sallertaine,with Carole Angibaud and Matthieu Barbarit (the standing up paddle moment near Brem-sur-Mer); nice encounters with very kind French men and women.
