Living the good life as a young person, Laura went from a life of privilege to eventually living on the streets. She is living proof that the face of homelessness and drug addiction is not what we sometimes think it is. But after having her daughter, Julia, Laura got into a local shelter, is in recovery, and with the shelter's help is now moving into a freshly painted two bedroom apartment in Pontiac, Michigan. While the rooms are empty, they are full of love between a mother and her young daughter, Treger and Rob are excited to help this young family with a custom design that works for them.

Leslie fled a very tough abusive past, finally escaping with her daughter by her side. Drained of finances, even though Leslie worked it was not enough, and they ended up homeless. Now, leaning on each other, Leslie has worked hard to now finally provide a spacious two-bedroom apartment for her and her daughter in San Diego. Treger and Rob look forward to making these two best friends a safe place for their humble new beginnings.

Aidee Mancillas was placed into the foster care system at a very young age, and some of the places she ended up were dangerous. At the age of 16, she finally fled terrible circumstances, tried couch-hopping with friends, but finally became homeless. Now with three young children in tow, Aidee tried to keep some normalcy even as they were shifted from shelter to shelter. Now working at a hospital, she finally has an apartment, and Treger and Rob are ready to give this hard working Mom the break she deserves by making her house into a haven she can call home.

Vanessa and her two young daughters have moved shelters countless times but now delight in their first home with a mermaid-themed design. Symone had a rough childhood, having never even celebrated her own birthday. Now that she has a son and a place to live, she gets the best present: furniture and design focused on the two of them. Finally, in Detroit, in addition to escaping an unsafe living situation, Alicia has lost important loved ones. Now back on her feet, she and her kids finally have a safe place to call home designed just for them.
